Cape May Bird Observatory and the Nature Center of Cape May

Nature Center of Cape May
The Nature Center of Cape May is an environmental education facility, where some of our nature center programs take place.
We also have a gift shop, exhibits, and an observation deck.

A New Jersey Audubon member organization

The best way to learn about southern New Jersey’s abundant natural resources is by taking attending a Cape May Bird Observatory program. There are modestly priced bird walks nearly every day of the year, plenty of opportunities for beginners, as well as more intensive workshops for birding enthusiasts.

There are few places in North America that have been birded longer or have more birding advocates than Cape May, New Jersey, one of the planet’s most celebrated migratory junctions. An array of habitat types and a wealth of protected natural areas make Cape May and the entire Delaware Bayshore a bird spot for all seasons. Wind and geography conspire to direct millions of migrating hawks, seabirds, shorebirds, songbirds, butterflies, and dragonflies here every autumn.
